We Must Transform How Schools Address Barriers to Learning

An increasing number of students are coming to school with learning, behavior and emotional problems. To address these needs, researchers from the national Center for MH in Schools & Student/Learning Supports at UCLA recommend that the various programs, services, initiatives, and strategies that schools use be grouped into six arenas of classroom and schoolwide student and learning support to help clarify what supports are needed in and out of the classroom to enable effective teaching and engaged student learning.
