College Students in the Western World are Becoming Less Emotionally Intelligent: A Cross-Temporal Meta-Analysis of Trait Emotional Intelligence

A study published last year examined the emotional intelligence (EI) of college students in western society over the last two decades and found that the digital landscape and/or the rise of individualism did not change overall trait EI, however, the trait EI domains “well-being,” “self-control,” and “emotionality” demonstrated significant decreases with time.
